I arrived on August 12, 2009 at 8:10pm! Like my big brother, I didn’t wanna come out…!
Mom went on maternity leave and was immediately informed that she was 2cm dilated and 60% effaced and there were all sorts of concerns that I’d come out before mom and dad had time to get ready for me. But, two weeks later, I was still lounging around in the womb! I made them walk miles in the days before I finally popped out.
After all that waiting, I came out in a jiffy. Mom apparently only had to push for 15 minutes, and Dr. Klickoff just barely made it in time to catch me coming out — there was not even enough time to administer any drugs to poor mom (and, boy, was she miffed!)!
Dad, Auntie Heather, Auntie Cindy, and Auntie Christina came to help mom out. I had a high bili level and yellow alien eyeballs, but I was able to go home immediately.
I weighed in at 7 lbs. 12.8 oz (officially 7 lbs. 13 ozs.), 20.5 inches. I have a feeling I’ll be able to hold my own against big bro…!
I started out all mellow and observant, but at 5 or 6 months, I really discovered my voice and have developed good skill whacking folks in the face. I mean no harm, I’m just curious (and it makes my brother laugh).
