Oh my goodness. Time is really flying with this little one. She’s already pretty good at rotating around like a sundial and skooching her way towards desired objects.
She may skip downward facing dog entirely and just start motoring around in proper crawling form!!
She is one motivated little pumpkin!
Kaden and Cameron are exactly 1 week apart, so we went to his party at his house today! Aside from being afraid of their extremely friendly dog Callie, Cameron had fun, as you can see here.
Dylan did, too. The kids liked deflating the bounce house, climbing in, and then being in there while it reinflated. I thought it was a bit risky, but nobody fell on their head, thank goodness!
Dylan can still be pretty shy and so can Julie, but they seemed pretty comfy with each other today and they did a lot of acting and rowring and jumping around together!
And I love how Dylan shares in other people’s joyous moments!
We went to a bday party at Pump’d (bounce house madness) for Kaden’s big sister Julie last month and so Cameron decided that this is where she wanted her shindig to be on her own special day. We brought vegan pizzas from Whole Foods, Aunt Nettie’s tamale pie and batches of homemade mint-chocolate cupcakes, banana-almond cupcakes with peanut buttercream frosting, and chocolate cupcakes. It was a small gathering of some of the sweetest kids in town and Cameron had a blast jumping and sweating it out on the floor! Check them out.
While Cameron has been busy turning three and celebrating it over (actual bday) and over (Tuesday bday circle) and over (bday party at Pump’d), Chloe has been working on the very early stages of being able to do downward facing dog, sitting up on her own, and entertaining herself with the help of this activity center!
As you can see, she thinks it’s pretty fun!
We’re glad she enjoys it! It buys us a few extra baby-free minutes!
Well, our little firecracker was officially 3 last Sunday! Unfortunately, she had a bit of a fever that day but, fortunately, we scheduled her bday party for the 18th, giving her time to recupe for her “big” day! On her actual bday, we took her to Saturn for lunch, rode the 25 cent trolley to the Boardwalk and rode a few rides. Despite the bouts of fever and oodles of waiting (lunch at Saturn is always slow, we had to wait an hour for the trolley and the Boardwalk was packed), I think she had a pretty good day!
Since we were saving all of the heavy cupcake prep for Tuesday bday circle and the party, we got her a vegan cupcake at Saturn. Then, once at the Boardwalk, she rode the Sea Serpent roller coaster for the first time (!) in addition to squeezing in a few other favorites (Bulgy, cars, convoy, the Cave Train, Ghostblasters…). We are so lucky to have such a fun and articulate (and, yes, very headstrong and sensitive) little gal. It’s been a joy to see her evolve into such an expressive and active little person!

Cameron is on the schedule at preschool for only 2 days a week so we made arrangements for her bday circle (done on Tuesday) last Friday. Of course, I was too addle-brained to discuss what picture she’d want on there!!
Luckily, the gals at school took care of it. Erika, one of my favorites there, called first thing in the morning to ask what Cameron might like (monkeys, of course!!) and Stacey, the director’s daughter-in-law, drew this totally awesome banner on short notice.
Needless to say, Cameron loved it!! She was shy for the bday circle, but I think she enjoyed herself! More pictures soon (or check them out on flickr).
This one is so social. You come into her view and her little legs start kicking excitedly, she starts trying to talk to you (seriously!!) and she flashes those gums of her’s. She’s a sweetie…no wonder the big kids (also sweeties) are always vying to have her sit on their lap!
This girl has perfected her on-demand-smile! Good thing we never get tired of it! And, yep, this is far more preferable than the cry-face!
Mornings are the best times in our house. Usually, the kids are still in good spirits and happy to see one another! Clarification: the big kids are always happy to see Chloe; they love seeing each other in the AM, but that mutual goodwill towards one another all too quickly devolves into bickering!
