Dylan’s second day at swim class went much better than Saturday’s. We ended up bumping into Heather, Assaf and Taliana who were also there for a make-up class, and maybe that — and Tom’s company in the pool — gave Dylan’s spirits just the bump they needed! He was a stellar student, starting with giving the teacher a “shower” and using his “windshield wipers” to wipe away the water when it was his turn for a “shower.”

This time, he got to go out on a platform the teacher called “Monkey Island” where he bravely climbed all around the outside and then gathered “treasure” before jumping off the platform and being rescued by his teacher!

He was a brave li’l fella! He even went to the underwater cafe for donuts!! In the end, we’re super glad we had him go two days in a row–his comfort level in the pool certainly seems to have gone up!

Heather, Assaf, and Taliana decided to sit with us while Dylan finished his class so I got to use two hands to snap a few photos of the Doodle and of Taliana.

After class was done, we went back home and spent some time in the backyard. We got some basil, a few tomato plants, snap peas, watermelon, pumpkin and some lupine seeds into the ground…and, hopefully, deer and gophers won’t get them!! Dylan was a great helper. He sprinkled the lupine seeds (inspired by a book he and Tom read together called Ms. Rumphius) and did a lot of watering.

Cameron sampled grapes with Dylan (peeled and quartered!) and cheered us on from her exersaucer….

As an aside, when Dylan saw Cameron in this cute little dress he remarked, “Oh! That’s a cute dress!” And he’s right: it is!!

Here’s a better shot of that cute dress!!! It was the perfect weather for it, too…mid-70’s with hardly a breeze!
