Last weekend, one of the teachers from pre-school came over and watched the kids (Finley, Cleo, Taliana, Dylan and Cameron!!) while us parents (Mariah and David, Heather and Assaf, and Tom and I) went to a mini-golf fundraiser for the Walnut Avenue Women’s Center (another mommy we know volunteers for the organization).
I think it’s safe to say all had fun…at the fundraiser, Neptune’s Kingdom (home to mini-golf, etc) had been reserved for our use, so we could even play pool, ping pong and air hockey for free! I also won a raffle prize — a $15 gift certificate to Saturn Cafe (sweet!)!
Meanwhile, back at the ranch, the kids were scooting around (and Cameron, apparently wanted to try as well!), baking “cupcakes”, playing with playdough (Dylan and I made a batch earlier in the morning!), and making a “marble plan” with Dylan’s Quadrilla set.
Amazingly, Yesenia was even able to get Cameron to nap for over 2 hours (despite noise from all of these playing children!!)!
It was very cool that all of the kids pretty much knew each other well and that they also knew Yesenia well (except Taliana, but of course, she’s a big girl now, so she was pretty adaptable). It worked out well and we can’t wait to have another outing like this!!
