bday fun

Taking a day off from work is always more fun than working, but my bday was awesome for more reasons than just that!

I spent a leisurely morning with the kids playing trains, building train stations out of dollhouse pieces, playing with dollhouses (where Cameron had baby doll and daddy doll singing happy birthday to the mommy doll!), and reading and drawing with them until it was time to go pick up Tom from work.

After getting Tom from the office and picking up a snack for the kids, we headed for San Francisco where we spent a couple of hours at the awesome playground at Golden Gate Park — got to the carousel in time to take the last ride of the day — and then headed for Millennium for a tasty bday dinner.

I still don’t get why kids like these spinny things!

Heading back to the play structures, we saw two fellas practicing some acrobatic feats, vaulting over benches and fences. Dylan thought it was pretty cool and said he wanted to do some tricks, too.

Meanwhile, Cameron complained about the wind…and yet refused to wear her poncho.

Then we saw a balloon guy who made a sword for Dylan and a blue doggy for Cameron (which she promptly untied!!).

Poor Cameron didn’t squeeze a nap in on the way to SF as hoped, so she sacked out before entrees were served! The rest of us enjoyed our decadent meals and desserts.
