The pumpkin we got from Cameron’s field trip was dented and scarred and the one that Dylan picked from his field trip was too small to carve, so we headed to yet another pumpkin patch with Heather, Assaf and the girls on Saturday.
Dylan loved pushing the wagon and wheelbarrow around.
Cameron liked sitting on the pumpkins!
She remembered all of the little “cut-outs” from Roaring Camp and eagerly stuck her head behind this pumpkin one we saw at the farm.
Of course, there were hay bales to climb!
Dylan sat below the gals.
See? There he is!
Wonder what he was thinking about here.
Cameron found another pumpkin to sit on.
Dylan likes the little pumpkins.
This year, we went through the corn maze. Dylan loves mazes…tons of running fun.
While Heather and I were ambling around with the kids, picking this route or that, Dennis, Tom and Assaf stood in one place and analyzed the “logical” route to the exit. Turns out their analysis was spot-on! When we ended up back where they were, they told us what they’d deduced and BOOM! There we were.
Cameron thought this big ol’ tractor tire was a tire swing (they have a tire swing at preschool), so she crawled on in and asked to be pushed. Too cute.
The kids crawled through a tunnel that was much, much longer than this one. Cameron was nervous, but Taliana and Dylan are such sweet big kids, they chaperoned her each time. Dylan would go in first, Taliana would give Cameron’s rear-end a little nudge to follow and she’d pick up the tail end. They kept her from getting scared of kids who were rowring inside the tunnel and/or blocking the way.
Cameron was tired by the time we got to the tractor. She had a hard time taking turns…but she did it!
We left soon after this to head over the hill for Jason’s 10th birthday celebration! Cameron was soo tired, but she didn’t nap at all. I should mention that Tom and I celebrated our anniversary the night before with dinner at Gratitude and a showing of Contagion at the local theater. Heather and Assaf watched the kids overnight while we enjoyed our night out! It was awesome. Dylan had no issues at all with the sleep over, Cameron had a little trouble at bbed time but eventually fell asleep with Heather, exhausted.
Everyone woke up fairly early the next day (and Tom and I came over at around 9:30am to pick everyone up for a pre-pumpkin patch brunch) so I don’t think any kids were very well-rested, but they all had a fantastic time nonetheless.
