Last weekend, we got up early so Dylan and Tom could run in our local Turkey Trot event. It was cold and Cameron is still a little sick so we were a little late in arriving, but rather than giving up on the whole proposition (we arrived after the kids’ race had already begun!), we registered Dylan and he went out there and ran with enthusiasm!!

Assaf had called the night before to tell us he might bring the girls to the run, too, and sure enough, there they were! As always, Dylan was so happy to see his buddies.

While Tom set out on his race, the kids collected pine cones and did even more running!

Then, since Natural Bridges was right there, we headed over to see the ocean.

lovin’ it

I love how both kids proclaim how beautiful the beach is whenever they see it!

looks sad, but really not

And, even though, Cameron looks sad (she still was not 100% herself), she had a great time. She told me she could hear the waves crashing as we approached the shore.

here he comes!

Then, with a lot of hustling to get back to the race course, we managed to return in time to see Tom finish!

blurry but cute!

And, here’s Dylan coming up to the finish line for his race. It’s blurry, but at least it captures his joy!!

He had a great time running it and, afterwards, he had Tom write up a sign saying that family, friends with race ribbons (Taliana and Karamalynn), or race bibs could climb up into his bunk!

Being the thoughtful boy that he is, he made a ribbon for Cameron as soon as we got home so she wouldn’t be excluded!!!
