Last week, we visited the Scotts Valley branch of the library and were pretty impressed with their set-up there. They had tons of toys, blocks, puzzles, and books all set out for the kids to use. And, before that, they had a lovely story time in their Community Room. We enjoyed it enough that we went again this week, but this time on Wednesday.
Last week, we ran into one of our Sutter nurses who was there with her almost 2-year old daughter; this week, we ran into our wedding coordinator, Angela, who was there with her 3.5 year old son! I was amazed she remembered us, but I guess it was her first year working at the Chaminade and we were The Vegan Wedding…she even remembered Tom’s name.
Anyway, Cameron could care less about Jenna (the Sutter nurse) and Angela. She was all about the activities….
This week’s story time theme was trains which, of course, made me think of Dylan who is still smitten with trains. We brought some craft stuff for him to paste together his own train at home.
Now, check this out. I’m no artist, obviously, but I drew these monkeys for Cameron (she’s still obsessed with 5 little monkeys jumping on the bed) and she drew hair on some of them…and colored their bodies in! I was pretty impressed with her ability to keep more or less within the lines!
A little later in the day, she drew a sad monkey face (2 dots for the eyes and a straight line for the mouth). I think she’ll be much better at art than I am!
