I like the rain…and I especially appreciate the ocean on a nice stormy day, but I have to admit that rain is not so pleasant an experience when you have kids to tend to! Despite the steady downpour, the girls and I somehow made it to story time this morning with only (hopefully) a few drops of rain landing on poor Chloe’s little head!
Cameron doesn’t mind it one bit–she put on her snow boots (just call them rain boots around her) and her big jacket, donned her hood and started eagerly looking for puddles to stomp in. Of course, when she stomped in a particularly big one, my pants were the ones to get drenched!!
After story time, we had to make our way back home to pick up Dylan from school and, of course, Cameron had to sack out on the way home. This is usually a good thing, but when I actually have to park the car and get out of it, it is a bit more complicated. I pondered and wondered what to do as I found a parking spot just outside Dylan’s school. And then Chloe woke up. Then, of course while I was loading Chloe up into the Ergo, I heard her have a massive poop…and Cameron was still sleeping. So standing there under an umbrella in the rain with Chloe strapped to my chest, I pondered some more…2 minutes to the end of the school day….I tried waking Cameron up but when she didn’t wake up right away, I decided to make a break for it. Luckily, Dylan was the first one out of the class and we got back to the car in mere minutes! Now back home enjoying the warm house, hot cocoa, apple slices, and popcorn!
