It’s hard to believe that our li’l guy is already 6. He is still one of the most sensitive kids I’ve seen–he’s so compassionate and so emotionally aware. Even our friends remark on his emotional intelligence. And, although conflicts with Cameron are getting a bit rougher, overall, he’s still as gentle as ever.
Annnd, he still loves trains! So, we had another celebration at Oak Meadow Park in Los Gatos (our second time there, our third time with the train theme!).
We invited our close family friends as well as Dylan’s best buddies. At first, we were worried that his best buddies (aside from Heather and Assaf’s girls) wouldn’t make it, especially since the party was in Los Gatos rather than Santa Cruz, but as it turned out, everybody came! And it was a grand fiesta!
The kids played on the playground, ran around like maniacs, ate cake and got pinata treat bags, and then rode the train and carousel.
This year, I made reservations too late to get the picnic area for the entire day, but we did bring the kids’ bikes and Dylan rode to the Vasona side of the park with Cameron amiably jogging behind after the party had ended! We saw the train and the kids waved.
Miraculously, Chloe slept through the entire party!! She was asleep for about 5-6 hours!! I was suffering from a minor (and improving) case of mastitis that morning, so I was a bit worried and uncomfy with skipping the nursing, but it was much easier to manage the party with her asleep!
She finally woke up during the bike ride, so we all paused to listen to the creek while she ate.
She seemed pretty content!
And, Dylan definitely had a great time. I just love how he relishes all of these moments! I hope they will be such good memories for him–such a beautiful and warm and happy day with all of his best buddies and our family and close family friends! He is loving and in turn is so loved!
