For the final week of summer before school starts (on August 28th!), we registered Dylan for “Around the World” summer camp and what does he do on his first day? He loses his tooth at snack!!! My, was I surprised when I went to pick him up!! He is just thrilled as can be!
He left a very sweet note for the tooth fairy telling her that he lost his tooth during snack and he would like to “kepe” it. Well, she let him have it–and since Tom and I were a bit behind and forgetful to boot, he got a “first-tooth bonus” (i.e., a big $ surprise–we told him to tell people that he simply got cash and to not specify the amount so as not to make others feel sad if they’d gotten fewer dollars than he).
We also nearly lost the tooth! The baggy that it was in was apparently open! Luckily, after a careful retracing of steps with flashlight in hand, we were able to locate the little nub (which is now back in its bag and hanging from a “curiously strong” magnet on our fridge).
He is so excited about this event! I am, too, although, I’m also a bit sad. These kids they are a-growing, so fast, so fast!
