Both Cameron and Dylan had field trips to the County Fair this past Wednesday! I drove Dylan (we left school shortly after 8:30) and Cameron and Tom met us there around 1-ish. Heather brought her girls and Isa (Maya’s older sister) around then as well! Unfortunately, my camera battery was DEAD so we didn’t get too many pictures. Luckily, though, there was a booth offering free group photos so we snagged us a couple of copies!
We have been to the County Fair many times, but this was the first time we’d visited “Yesterday’s Farm.” It was actually pretty neat. A big highlight for Dylan was being able to walk through a real train caboose! But, he also enjoyed pumping water, watching a blacksmith make a new horse shoe, grinding wheatberries into flour, “milking” a wooden cow, and listening to some ladies talk about weaving.
He also LOVED seeing the public buses. We finally got to ask what the Metro Para Cruz was all about (it is a service where you can schedule them to pick up/drop you off for $4 each way; very nice for those who can’t drive!)!
He is such an interested fella. I love the curiosity and focus!
After the girls got to the Fair, we saw a Sea Lion show and rode the ponies.
Dylan and I were there from about 9-5:30!!! Unbelievable! I have some pictures trapped on my phone and will upload them soon.
