Cameron had her very first Kindergarten field trip this past Friday! I got to drive her and another gal in her class and, boy, was that a different experience from driving a car full of boys!
I know kid personality matters–and this particular classmate was especially sweet, but still, the vibe was definitely different!
Usually, the kids tear out of the car and scatter as quickly as they can; this time, Chiara and Cameron patiently waited right beside me and then, when they did want to run around, they actually told me where they were going (as opposed to just running off without warning!). I loved joining the kids on their field trips regardless, but it was definitely icing on the cake to have such a manageable group!
The girls and I went through the corn maze twice! The first time, Samantha (the gal in the center) easily found the way out for us–well, maybe we were just fresh with energy and didn’t mind the running around!
We went a second time because a couple of other classmates (Rio and Angel) wanted to go again. I foolishly volunteered to take them all! The kids started getting hot and thirsty, not to mention tired, and we were stuck in some dead-end loop. I was beginning to wonder how’d I’d navigate them out when Rio’s dad came and found us (phew!)!
Rodoni Farms has got to be one of The Most Scenic pumpkin farms around–ocean view!
After finding pumpkins (no larger than the size of their heads!), the corn maze, and lunchtime, it was time to play on the hay bales.
I loved seeing this girl smile! I was also very happy to see that she never got in trouble for being disruptive or inattentive!! Looking forward to the next field trip, for sure!
