wibbleton to wobbleton

at the Dog Dylan and I are back to going to rhyme time on Tuesday mornings. The old librarian (who is actually young) is gone and they have a new one (who is actually much older) running rhyme time now.

During 1-on-1 reading time, Dylan and I read Daddy Cuddles and the two women next to me were given a Spanish version of Polar Bear, Polar Bear, What Do You Hear?”. I was impressed that both mothers tried to read the story to their kiddies.

We sang “Wibbleton to Wobbleton” and “The Grand Old Duke of York” at breakneck speed and mumbled through a few other songs to which we didn’t know the lyrics.

After rhyme time, we headed to Heather’s house and then to the Santa Cruz County Fair where we watched some dogs catch frisbees (one dog was described as a cat-dog as it behaved much like a cheetah), some Alaskan pig racing (the piggies had names like Ham Solo and Mr. Cunningham), and a clown performing magic tricks.

We also saw a 360+ pound pumpkin!

Well, Dylan pretty much snoozed through most of this — he awoke briefly when a donkey brayed so loudly, he nearly jumped out of his Baby Bjorn, and once again when we were watching the dogs (this is Dylan at the dog event) — but the rest of us had an ok time (despite the 80+F heat).

We had a pretty busy day (out from 9:45am until after 6pm). So, now, Dylan is out like shout, having good dreams, we hope….
