my date with dylan

Dylan had a fever for 4 or 5 days running and was feeling really kind of neglected it seems…and I felt bad that I couldn’t really comfort him the way he wanted to be comforted (basically just snuggling up on my lap) because I, of course, still have to nurse Cameron and she’s gotten big enough that there isn’t that much space left on my lap if she’s in it! So, to combat some of his blues, we decided to have a “date” with just the two of us. Since our date had to be squeezed in between gymnastics and Mandarin, we didn’t have much time. After I made sure Cameron was full-up with milk, Tom stayed with her and Dylan and I went over to Natural Bridges to check out the monarchs.

Here he is walking along the boardwalk to the main viewing area. Dylan was a sweetie. He liked seeing the butterflies (and he told me this morning that he was planning on sharing his monarch butterfly notepad with his group), but he was more interested in finding this rat (ick!) that we saw scurry into the bushes!!

It was an absolutely gorgeous fall day. I wish we had just a little more time so we could have wandered out onto the beach to look at some tidepools or just play in the sand. Things to look forward to for next time…!
