I’m in catch-up mode once again! Undoubtedly this post will be all disjointed and random, starting off with this cute little picture of Dylan with the Lion face painting he came home with last week (2/8/2010, to be exact!). He was obviously so proud of it! It was so cute, we couldn’t just go straight home, so we went shopping for groceries first instead. Dylan was a total maniac with his cart and he was very decisive about what we needed to get; he almost always decides we need bread and tofu and just pursues them independently of me. It helps that they’re within his reach. Beware, other shoppers!
This is what Dylan’s face actually looked like before he got his face-painting. And, see how happy Cameron is to be sitting right next to her big brother?? He’s quite a “role model,” meaning she’s learning how to chatter a mile a minute and scream loudly when she feels we haven’t heard her demands. Overall, though, I think we’re lucky we have two relatively happy campers….
And, of course, Cameron hit her 6-month marker! And, she’s still alive! She’s sitting up like a champ, gabbing on and on, rolling herself to wherever she wants to go, and grabbing at everything we put into our mouths! We started her on rice cereal on Valentines Day — just one tablespoon mixed with some breast milk. She seemed to like it well enough….
So, after we all had red velvet pancakes with maple-sour cream syrup, she enjoyed her cereal. Dylan even helped feed her! As you can see, she enjoyed her spoon the best….
We had a nice Valentines Day celebration with just the four of us. The day before, Lola, Auntie Christina and Uncle Dre watched the kids while Tom and I watched Avatar in 3-D! So, Vday itself was a family day. Tom made a yummy carrot-ginger soup, veggies crepes with a red bell pepper coulis and I quickly prepped some chocolate-coconut-almond fondue (we dipped fruit). Tom and Dylan also made a lot of faces.
I think we all enjoyed the long weekend — Dylan loved all of the Vday treats. He liked the fondue, but who doesn’t like a little chocolate???
To end our weekend, we stayed home trying to recover from various ailments–luckily, the kids are all better; it’s Tom and I that need more recovery time! Heather, Assaf and Taliana came over with a yummy hot and sour soup to speed our recovery, and I made a vegan pancit (Filipino noodle dish) that came out ok.
There’s been a lot that’s been going on lately, but maybe the next post, I’ll really catch up…!
