Cameron had her 1-year doc appointment this morning (yep, a month late…we’re on the vaccination schedule) AND her first Music Together class since she’s been alert enough to be aware of it (my first day of my weekly work-from-home-so-I-can-bond-with-baby day)! So, she got four shots today plus a test to check her iron levels. Of course, all is well and she’s continuing to trend around the 73rd and 75th percentile for weight and height.

Poor Doodle got a little freaked out by the doc’s assistant and was anxious during our whole visit there (though the doc set her a little more at ease). I never really want her to feel anxious, but I have to admit, having her burrow down into your shoulder is a pretty sweet feeling!

So, after getting poked four times (poor thing startled with the first prick and then yelped for the next three), we headed over to Music Together. She just loved it and I’m glad we could do something fun after the so un-fun vaccines!

She spent much of the session soaking it in, watching everyone in the room and listening to the teacher. She’d back her little bottom onto my lap to observe from her “safe” vantage point. When she did venture forward, she’d turn back to flash me huge smiles.

It was the best, and I am so grateful that I can take the time off from work to have this time with her.

I also have to mention her new words and signs! She’s signing “cat” (and meowing), she’s really embraced “no”, and she now very enthusiastically says “yay!!!!” Tonight at HAT’s house, she tried to say, “help.”

I can’t remember if I’ve already mentioned it, but she also signs “eat” (by pointing to her mouth with one finger) and, hurrah!, she finally started signing “more” (accompanied by a “mo?”). We also think she has developed her own version of “all done” (one hand waving side-to-side)–she does this when she’s “all done” with sitting in her booster chair and wants to relocate to a lap.
