Fall is officially here and to kick it off, we took our mooncakes from SF’s Eastern Bakery (yummy stuff, for sure!) and attended an Autumn Moon Festival, hosted by our Mandarin teacher.
As an aside, Dylan was a prince at school that day and he had a lovely crown painted on his sweet little forehead!
Once again, Cameron looks like such a calm and self-reflexive little being. In actuality, she tore around on the grass and the playground without stopping! I kid you not.
Well, while she chewed, she paused to survey the land, perhaps plotting her next sprint!
Taliana and Dylan made volcanoes in the sand and ate edamame, spring rolls, fruit kabobs and corn before sitting for circle time with their teacher and making lanterns!
The kids and parents took the lanterns and marched all the way around the lake! Cameron missed most of the project time as she wanted to nurse, but we caught up with the group as they were about 1/3 of the way around. It was a beautiful night and we were all miraculously spared from too many mosquito bites!
We ended the evening with a late dinner of Chinese food with our moon cakes as dessert. Although the evening went late, I think a good time was had by all…!
