It’s hard to believe Cameron is already two! When I see pictures of her as a baby, I’m still stunned at how quickly time went by…it seems like it went more quickly with her than it did with Dylan.
To celebrate, I took the day off from work. I was planning on taking Dylan to daycare for half a day while I spent the morning alone with Cameron, but Cindy called and asked if she could take Dylan with her and, of course, Dylan couldn’t pass up an opportunity to hang out with his cousins, so Cameron had Tom and I all to herself.
Of course, the day started with a birthday cupcake. I fell asleep before baking them the night before, but I woke up at around 5am and the cupcakes were put in the oven at about the time I started having contractions 2 years earlier!
After breakfast, we went outside to check out the artichoke in our backyard (still don’t know when to harvest it!). Cameron is so independent (often telling you, ‘no! I can do it!’), she put her shoes on all by herself. She gets them on the right feet, mmm, maybe half the time or maybe even more often!!
After dropping Dylan off at Auntie Cindy’s house, we grabbed a bite to eat at Tofoo Com Chay. And, luckily, she got a nice nap in while we drove from home to Cindy’s and to lunch!
By the time we got to Happy Hollow, it was pretty late in the afternoon and we only had about 90 minutes to hang out there. It turned out to be the perfect amount of time. When we arrived, people were leaving for the day, so we had the park practically to ourselves and we were able to pretty much just stay on whatever rides we wanted.
It was actually really nice that we had Cameron all by herself. For some reason, Dylan isn’t fond of rides (except for Danny the Dragon which is train-like), so Cameron got a chance to ride all of these rides on her own.
She loved the rides and went on them again and again. The only thing is that I hope she doesn’t think she can just camp out on a ride all of the time without waiting in line first! Here she’s trying not to smile…who knows why!? But, it reminds me of Taliana who can also be quite serious while enjoying rides….
There was no competition for the fire trucks on this ride (only the fire trucks have bells, the police cars don’t have any), so every single time she rode, she got to ding ding ding.
She had a blast and didn’t want to leave (the only downside to being there for only 90 minutes, I guess!). But, afterwards, we headed back to Lola’s house for a celebratory dinner for both Cameron and Tyler with the family.
Celebrating didn’t end there, though! We had a joint bday celebration with Kaden as well. Pictures coming!
