Ok, so today I survived taking both girls to story time and to the hospital in the rain, and I managed to pick up Dylan and Taliana from their after-school program with Chloe and Cameron in tow! I know it sounds small, but truly, I’ve been anxious about this scenario for a while–managing all 3 kids at once! First, Cameron isn’t as obedient as Dylan and she is also more independent. So she’s more likely to stray and explore — not too far, but certainly away from my side — far more than Dylan was/is. Anyway, toss in a lack of second hand to hold her’s because of the need to hold an umbrella and, boom, you’ve instantly got an even more anxious mom.
But, at the library, Cameron did listen well and she did stay close to me (even though she did stray outside the radius of the umbrella!), especially while we crossed the parking lot to get to the side entrance!
By the time it was time to take Chloe back to the lab at the hospital, I’d figured out that having Cameron actually help me hold the umbrella handle would be an excellent way to keep her tethered closely to my side (again while crossing the parking lot).
And, luckily, by the time it was time to pick up the big kids from school, it had stopped raining!
As to lab results, Chloe’s bili level is up a little to 14.9, but this is a very slow rise over the course of 2 days and it won’t require any more medical intervention (we think)! There’s a chance that it is due in part to breastmilk jaundice (which, incidentally, was ruled out with Dylan), but even that should resolve on its own….
