We managed to squeeze in a seder! Yes, we celebrated it early…and no, we didn’t get through the entire Ina Gada Haggadah! But, we still had fun. And, this is one of the only pictures I got of Chloe since, as usual, she was in the good ol’ Ergo!
This year, we made a few new recipes and made great use of our farm share veggies: we had beet casserole, a traditional charoset, matzoh ball soup, salad with strawberries and cherry tomatoes, cous cous, fresh strawberries, an impromptu parsnip and potato stew (Moroccan-style) and matzoh toffee.
We had an interesting seder plate with roasted beets standing in for the lamb shank and a flower standing in for the egg.
None of the kids could sit through the entire haggadah, so we read the first couple of paragraphs, lit the candle, drank the first cup of wine and then had the kids find the afikomen (Taliana found it!!). Then we sat down to eat.
Then I remembered I wanted a group photo. We had to stand in front of the table to hide the big old dinner mess! The kids look adorable.
And, for good measure, here are a few other photos from the evening. The kids didn’t go to sleep until 11pm, so I hope they aren’t too exhausted for tomorrow’s Easter festivities with my family…!
