Both Dylan and Cameron were surprisingly cooperative in putting on some “festive” Easter clothes. Dylan agreed only because we told him he could take the long-sleeved shirt off after pictures. So they posed.
Then, Dylan immediately found an Easter basket.
Then, he found the other.
Being the nice big brother that he is, Dylan promptly gave Cameron her basket.
After some cursory glances at the goodies, they loaded themselves and their goods into the car and we headed to Auntie Christina’s house for brunch.
We brought along potatoes, tofu scramble and cupcakes decorated to look like easter baskets
And, there was the easter egg hunt. Sadly, for poor Dylan, his cousins are now getting to an age where they just don’t have any interest in it anymore. Jason is now 10 and since he isn’t interested, Tyler decided he isn’t…and since Tyler wanted to be big like Jason, he didn’t want to hunt either. So, poor Dylan, wanting to be big like his cousins, decided he didn’t want to look for eggs either. But you could tell he really wanted to….
Cameron, on the other hand, was wildly enthusiastic. She was running around picking eggs up left and right. When her basket got full, she turned to Lola and said, “Lola can you pour this?” (as in empty out her full basket into Lola’s empty one so she could make room for more eggs!)!
I kept telling Dylan Cameron needed help, we couldn’t just leave all those eggs out here in the park. Then, Christina also mentioned that she actually hid eggs for Tyler to find that weren’t vegan (Cadbury creme eggs), and that finally kicked our little guy into action.
Growing up can be so tough!
And, here is little Chloe!
More pictures of both the seder and Easter are on flickr.
