It’s been so hot here lately, we’ve been doing a lot of after-school popsicle and ice cream “parties!” Yesterday, I thought it would be fun to fill up the inflatable pool and let the kids splash around for a bit. Wouldntcha know…it cooled down a little (still hot, but there was a breeze) and the kids were eating popsicles while splashing around, so they got a little toooo cool and basically abandoned the pool after, oh, about 10 or 15 minutes! Whoops!
Still, those few minutes were at least fun!
But, eating popsicles in the sun did eventually win out!
After giving up on the pool, we all went to investigate the latest gopher damage. Yes, that’s right. Despite ALL of our best efforts to keep those suckers away, they’re back…and they took down one of our grassy plant thingies (I don’t know the name of it) and one of our lavendar plants!
Dylan was so sweet reminding us that, “well, we still have more”. Yes, that’s true, but if the gophers keep at it…Sigh.
After getting all dressed up again, we went inside. Chloe, who is just as alert and playful and smiley as can be these days, just went into giggles with these stuffed camels from Auntie Christina!
Look at how much she likes this thing!
Clearly, she’s gotten pretty good at holding dear things to her…and she’s great at drooling now, too (note impending drip in the photo).

Anyway, here’s a little vid I took of Chloe giggling at the camels.
Oh! Nearly forgot I took her to her 4-month check-up yesterday, too. She’s doing great. 28th percentile for head circumference, 85th percentile for height and about 50th for weight. And, Tom reports she rolled from back to tummy the other day although she hasn’t done it again since!
