This picture was just too cute to pass up. You know, you say, “cheeese” and this is what you get!
Despite my best efforts to just quietly let my bday pass (especially since it was the kids’ first day of school this year), HAT made a cake for me anyway.
The kids will tell you I’m mad about geocaching these days. Tom has taught them the word “junkie” and when I climb back into the car these days, Cameron’s first question is often, “Mama, did you find the geocache??”
So, I got a chocolate cake (baked by Heather) decorated with a compass and each of these sweet li’l ones decorated a quadrant!
They’re all so sweet and so full of personality!
Then, I forced everyone to geocache (Tom gave me a new handheld GPS unit for better geocaching accuracy!). Luckily, we found both of the hides we were looking for (it’s so much less fun for the kids when we come up empty-handed!)! This is the largest container we’ve found so far! And, believe it or not, it was tough to find!! We found old underwear (big ew) before we found this big tub!!
We had to pace a bit to keep this one calm and Tom, especially, was getting antsy about leaving because she was so fussy! But, we persevered!
Here she is before she started getting tired of being pressed up against my sweaty shirt (it was another searing hot day).
As I mentioned, we found 2 caches that day! The pics are in reverse order, so this is when we were hiking back down to the second cache which happened to be on our way back to the car.
At first, Dylan didn’t want to go, so I think he and Chloe and Tom stayed behind in the car. We were all really glad Dylan changed his mind!
Photo evidence of the first geocache find of that day!
All in all, I think everyone had fun!
LOL ! Your age in binary… love it.
