We spent our final day in Los Angeles at Griffith Park. We love this place! And, there were more trains to ride. Last time, we rode the train by the ponies and this time, we headed in the direction of Travel Town.
We lucked out and got to ride the LA Live Steamers railroad, too. It’s only open on Sundays!
Since Chloe is too small, we couldn’t ride and then Cameron fell asleep on Tom’s shoulder while they were waiting in line! So, he put her back in the car and Chloe and I kept her company. When we saw the train start to go by, we dashed out of the car to try to get a pic. This is as good as it got!
Our next stop was Travel Town! Once Tom and Dylan returned to the car, Dylan and I took off to find a geocache. We had no luck, but there was another one nearby in Travel Town that supposedly had a train geocoin in it, so we decided to give it a go (and luckily, weather pretty much cooperated!)
They do have a strict photography policy, but photos taken for personal use are allowed, so we took some!
A certain someone was pretty stoked!
Too bad we live too far away to throw a bday party here!
Dylan was excited about the trains, I was excited about the geocache! The hint for the entry mentioned it could be found on the Diner car and here we were! The first attempt yielded nothing, but we came back after taking a few more pictures and we found it!
Dylan got a train goodie. I’d left all of our geocache trade items in the car, so we decided to head back to the car, check on Cameron’s status and pick up our trade items.
Cameron woke up while we were relaying train ticket info to Tom, so we all headed back out.
After we got our swag, Dylan was super concernced that we play the geocache game properly and not just take something out of the cache without putting something else back in, so we immediately headed back to the cache to put in our trade items! I’m so glad he is attentive to doing the “right” thing!
Luckily, we brought lots to trade since this was such a kid-friendly cache and I figured Cameron would want to take something out as well! We left bubbles, a finger puppet and one of our good luck keeper coins, and Cameron grabbed a skeleton ornament!.
We finished our trip out with a train ride around Travel Town and then dinner with the family back at Grandma Sharon’s house. Yes, it’s been a long vacation (but, really too short!), but it’s been so much fun!
