We had an incredibly busy week what with all of our ordinary stuff — T/Th swim lessons, Wednesday piano lesson for Dylan, and Friday morning gymnastics for the girls — but H.’s best friend from elementary school was also in for a visit from Indiana where she and her hubby had moved about 10 years ago! Through H., Val and I also became friends (so I’ve known her for almost as long as I’ve known H., meaning nearly 20 years), so it was extremely nice to be able to see her again on their daughters’ first trip back to California!!
When they left, their eldest daughter was just about 2 or 3 and now she is an amazing 13-year old, so wise for her years…a voracious reader (she went through all of the Harry Potter books in about 5 days!), and such an interesting and easy young lady to talk with! We met their youngest daughter (now 9) for the first time. We enjoyed dinner at HAKT’s house on their first night in Santa Cruz and hosted dinner at our house on their last evening. So my personal laptop died, so I’ve been unable to sift through photos, but I’ll post some pictures soon. The kids had a great time hanging out together, especially playing in the mud (building fairy houses, of course), and there are definitely some sweet shots!
