Dylan was the Big Cheese during the 3rd week of October. You get to be Big Cheese based on a random drawing done in class. When you’re the big cheese, you get to do things like excuse people from the table, draw a person randomly during circle to answer questions, and other such classroom “responsibilities.”
The Big Cheese also gets to bring a share for every single day! And, of course, there are pictures.
On the final day, parents are invited to come in and tell a few stories about the Big Cheese and to listen to questions asked by classmates. Finally, the Big Cheese gets a poster of positive descriptive words contributed by classmates. It’s really pretty sweet!
So, Tom and I were both able to make it to Dylan’s presentation on Friday (where he read answers to questions like “What is your favorite vacation place? What’s your favorite food? Who lives in the house with you, etc.). We shared the story of how he made bday mud cakes and pies in anticipation of Cameron’s birth and how he chose her name.
Tom shared the story of when he got stitches in his head and very bravely sat still while the doctor (who had one arm in a cast!) sewed him up.
His classmates said very nice things about him (as I’m sure they do with all of their classmates), among the positive words were: brave, smart, quick, friendly, wonderful, intelligent, and so on.
It was all very sweet! Wearing the cheese head is apparently optional…it is also apparently associated with Wisconsin Packers fans! Ya learn something new everyday.
