…Swim party and a reminder that we need to get Thing 3 back into swim school!
The day before Chloe’s bday celebration, we celebrated Jada’s 8th birthday (she and Cameron went to preschool together, and Jada’s youngest sister and Chloe are still at the same preschool!). We were super late. I assumed there was only one Swim School of the same name mentioned in the invite. Nope. There were 3. I took a wild guess at Capitola location and went there first. It looked really wrong, so did another search. Was it in Watsonville? Well, yep.
It then took 20 minutes to make our way a very short distance down Capitola Road to the freeway! By the time we got to the party, there was only about 30 minutes left of swimming, but I let the kids go for it…and they had a blast! Even Chloe did, even though she was confined to the steps and the shallow area (there was no way I was going to jump into the pool and Tom was out of town still, so he wasn’t around to enlist!).
Chloe’s good buddy, Aisha, let her use the swim ring for a little bit. That was super sweet. These two are generally pretty good to one another (though I also hear plenty about the preschool drama!):
Here’s Cameron (in the striped bathing suit), being a very nice big sis:
And, Cameron just looking like a big kid:
Dylan, checking in on Chloe. We are very lucky that these kids do look after each other!
Instead of cake, they had donuts! Vegan donuts! Here are the littles enjoying their donuts together.
Very glad we actually did make it to the party! It was a cold and windy day, but it was an indoor (and heated!) pool and such a treat for the kids to be able to swim and play!
