It’s been such a long time since I’ve updated this blog! But, it is definitely not for lack of anything to report! We have been extraordinarily busy…theatre (Cameron did 2 AAT shows: “Lion King, Jr.” and “Beauty and the Beast”; Dylan just finished up with “Les Mis”), dance (spring performance!!!), swimming and, oh my gawd, so much more.
I had an instinct to write that poor little Chloe gets short shrift (here on this blog), but the truth is, all of the kids do. The full-time jobs are very intense. Tom has traveled more this summer than he did all last year (in fact, he’s been gone for the past 3 days!) and my job, with 24/7-now-24/3.5 day cycles has been awful (though the past couple of weeks have been gratefully more reasonable and the new on-call schedule with shorter duration is potentially a bit better). The kids have really had to step up and be more responsible and they are really doing great.
Now they are all in week 6 of summer, taking a break from scheduled summer camps. This year, we made the decision to enroll Chloe in summer camp instead of keeping her in preschool. At first, I was worried about pulling her from her comfortable and well-known environment, but in the end, I think having her adjust to new people, larger groups, less individualized attention…Spanish (via summer camp!) will be good for her when she starts Kindergarten in fall!
Since it’s been a long while since I’ve posted, the backlog of pictures and stories is immense!! But, I am hoping to post more bits, more regularly until we are all caught up!
