Every year, we get a nice plate from SG2. This year, we got 2! One that Cameron decorated (the normative gift), and one with Chloe’s footprints! Lovely keepsakes!

Dylan made this lovely candle for us. He got the only train available! What luck! He sent it home with a note that said we can’t light it, though!
I happened to volunteer in the classroom the day that Mrs. Presleigh wanted these wrapped–they’re very delicate and everything is in danger of falling off with the slightest contact. Now, I’m not sure what to do with it!! We’ll wrap it well to store it and hope it lasts…it is beautiful!
Here’s this year’s family photo! Last year, Christina photoshopped Chloe into the family photo. This year, she was there, for reals!
We arrived very late (at about 2pm), but we’d fed the kids beforehand, so after Tom and I got our mimosas, we all posed for the family photo and then settled down for the gift-opening madness.
You can see that Lola bought matching outfits for the girls. She excels at stuff like that (my older sister and I had matching outfits all throughout our childhood!). Matching outfits is much more fun to see on your kids than yourself (so says me)!
There are A LOT of pictures (surprise, surprise!! It’s so easy with digital cameras!), so I’ll just post a few favorites. This one of Dylan looking through his candy kaleidoscope is one of them.
Good thing Chloe is good-natured! The kids think of her as another toy!
My nephew Rob got Tom an Aimee Mann album he’s been wanting!
And, finally, here are the jammy shots. Now Lola is getting matching jammies for the big boys and little boys.
And now, the little gals get their matching jammies while us big ‘uns get our usual newbies!
Before the big nephews left to spend some time with their dad, we took a few more photos.
Mom also wanted to take a photo of just us.
After presents at Cindy’s, we headed to Christina’s for dinner! Got home at midnight and kids only fell asleep in the car at about 11pm! And we wonder why we were late leaving for Los Angeles the next day!
Here’s our brood on Christmas morning! Despite a very late night at the Taylor’s house the previous night, the kids didn’t sleep in at all! They were asleep by 11 (I think) and woke up at 7:30am!
This year, I told Cindy we were going to spend a little more time at our house this year so the kids could enjoy their Santa presents a bit before heading over the hill.
She’s 10 months old and a pro at unwrapping already!
By the way, this is Cameron’s present, not her’s!
For Dylan, this was the year of Snap Circuits and Legos. Uncle David got him a rover and he got a motion detector and sound recorder from HAKT.
Santa brought a new 5 Little Monkeys book for Cameron.
Santa even left a few things for us–lock and lock containers, a laminator (for kids’ art)….Happy all around!
On Christmas Eve, we celebrated with my sister’s in-laws (who happen to live not 5 minutes away!). Tom and Cameron were the life of the party!! But seriously, we were all pretty tired already from the previous night’s celebration.
Tom did wake up to open his present…and to also appreciate some of Dylan’s presents. But, he was pretty much in and out of sleep during the present exchnage!
Here are a few other pictures…
This is Madison (in the back) and her younger sister Lauren. Lauren has done a bit of babysitting for us!
Dylan loves her.
Jeff played guitar for the Christmas carols.
This is Maddie with Jeff’s Aunt Candice (his mom’s sister).
Jason is sooo sweet with kids. He’s entertaining Chloe here.
It is so nice that Jeff’s family continues to include us in their celebration! We had a great time and had fun participating in another gift-exchange year!
The first of our many holiday celebrations was with HAKT. We hosted at our house since they were hosting her family at their place on Christmas Day! We exchanged a few presents–although we only had time for the kids to open their gifts. Us grown-ups waited until after New Years’s (!) to open our’s up…!
This picture is of Chloe with her new little walker. Today is January 3 and she’s already a pro at using it!
Here she is opening it up with Auntie Heather! She loved the gift, but also the picture of the baby on the box.
Here’s Chloe trying to pry wrapping paper off the boxes.
Of course, there were books! Taliana and Cameron read a couple together. We love the Jez Alborough books (Hug,Yes, Tall)…Cameron “reads” ’em.
After the kids opened some gifts, we thought we’d have time to play a game–this one was called Stone Age which I’d received from a Boardgamegeek Secret Santa exchange.
You can also see on the table that we managed to make some nog. At this point, I can’t remember what we served for dinner, but it apparently involved bread!
Oh, now I remember also that the girls spent the night!
The next day, I let them decorate pre-made gingerbread lollipops.
It was tough getting a photo for the holiday card…and we took the picture after Cameron had done her own haircut! But, we did end up with a few good ones. Luckily, kids can sometimes cycle quickly through their ups and downs!
Liked this one of the two girls a lot, but obviously, someone is missing!
Why the glum face? Well, I’ll tell you. Chloe may love hearing this when she’s older. All of this grumpiness on picture day was because the big kids both wanted to have her own their lap! So, Cameron was happy when Chloe was on her lap…
And, Dylan was happy when he had Chloe on his lap! You can see that Chloe was just plain happy.
We eventually gave up on a group shot and went for solo pictures.
So we wished our dear friends and family a holiday and new year filled with jolly smiles and the sweet sound of laughter (or, at least some peace and quiet!)!

Baby girl has really made great progress on standing this past week! We rarely can find opportunities to provide Chloe updates in timely fashion, but she really just started standing up on her own about last week (just before the holiday break).
Also, second front top tooth is finally completely through the gums. There are plenty of bumps up there, so we’re expecting those other teeth to come through pretty soon!!
Love this jolly, little girl!
Oh my, it was cold, but we braved the weather and sang a few songs. Cameron has been skipping naps at school (drats!), so she pretty much just had to be carried by Tom and I don’t think I heard her sing a note! But, Dylan was a super good sport and he sang the songs he knew–the a-ok versions and not the “batman smells” ones!
Dylan and I had made mint chocolate chip cookies the day before (it was a no homework week for him!! Celebration for both of us!!) and we brought them to the post-caroling party for all to enjoy!
Hatchet job to the left side during morning busy-ness! That is all. You’ll see it in the holiday photo!
