Cameron’s language explosion is continuing. She’s added so many new words, it’s hard to keep up. A few recent ones that I’m remembering are “hot”, “rice”, “drink”, “swing”, “read”, “bike”, and she now signs, “happy” (for the happy bats we see in “Where is Baby’s Pumpkin?”)
Also, I don’t think I’ve mentioned how well she sings. She really “gets” music and likes to do songs on “vocables” (buh buh bah buh bah kind of stuff) and when I sing in the car, if I stop, she signs (and says) “more” and also starts bup bup bupping (singing on vocables)! She also sway-dances with her sweet little knees slightly bent whenever we start some music.
The days go by so quickly and are always so busy, there’s more new things she says and does that I’m just not remembering–the girl is a busy, busy bee and quite the chatterbox! Oh, how could I forget? She also knows, “mine”. Yikes. Uses it often, especially with Dylan!
Interestingly, at 14 months old, she has about 30 words (including some vocalizations — beep beep, choo choo, woof woof, meow) and about 14 signs — pretty much a reversal in stats from our Signing Smart book (which I just recently re-discovered on our bookshelf) which claims babies following their SigningSmart curriculum have about 25 signs and a dozen spoken words at this stage.Yep, we’ve got another talker…!
