These pictures are all out of order (we got pumpkins and then played on the hay bales!) but you get the gist!

Letting Dylan run around with a lollipop in his mouth probably isn’t the safest thing
to do! But, look at that beautiful view behind him!!

Tammy’s Haunted House and Halloween party

ready to party!
ready to party
Originally uploaded by coffywoman.

We got to take Taliana to Tammy’s Halloween party with us and she gave us a preview of her Cheshire Cat costume! We didn’t out fit our own kids in their full costumes, but Dylan brought his hat and his pocketwatch….

The kids just loved the party. There were games (darts, smashing plates with balls, air hockey) in back, a Minecraft button scavenger hunt, and a craft table where kids could decorate their own treat bags. It was awesome.

And, super-thoughtful Tammy also bought vegan marshmallows and chocolate so we could make s’mores with the rest of the party-goers. Cameron clearly enjoyed.

Oh, and another bonus: got to see some other good friends and former co-workers (Tammy, Wendy, Giovanna and I all worked at AOL together)–this is Giovanna, Wendy’s beau James, Wendy, and their buddy Jackie.

Tammy also had the most amazing haunted house! Her son Matthew is older now, so it’s getting scarier (and our kids have greater sensitivity to this kind of stuff, too)! Here are some more pictures:

And one last picture of roasting marshmallows!! I really think this roasting over a firepit at home thing is getting really popular! Tammy had the great idea of using charcoal instead of wood — no sparks!!

dylan’s pumpkin

Dylan drew his “pattern” on his pumpkin all by himself! I don’t know what variety of pumpkin this is, but it had the thickest and toughest skin of any pumpkin we’ve ever worked with! So, while Dylan did the art-work, he got help carving it from mostly Heather who also fashioned those lovely ears from another small gourd lying about their house!

We set our pumpkins out only on Halloween and they’re already getting fuzzy and gross! Also, one of our neighbor’s dogs made a meal of the ears, so poor bunny-kin is ear-less!

Anywho, here are a few more pictures from pumpkin-carving night (10/28)….

Oh, we went to a Halloween party the night before pumpkin carving and the hostess (a dear friend, former carpooler and co-worker, Tammy) and her helpers all wore black shirts with the word “Staff” printed in white. Dylan so loved the party, he was inspired and he and Taliana made their own Staff name tags for their own shirts!

Yes, this is Dylan’s school parade…not Cameron’s! I really love Mrs. Presleigh. She is always soooo calm and my was she patient when Cameron decided to “go rogue” and stop following the White Rabbit (as instructed!).

About half-way through Dylan’s school parade, she decided she just wanted to watch. Mrs. Presleigh had to retrieve her from the crowd and then she proceeded to yank Mrs. Presleigh around so she could high-five the spectators!!!

Halloween 2012 – Alice in Wonderland

November 01, 2012 at 11:15PM
Dylan has been enjoying hom productions of Alice in Wonderland, so it was decided that this would be this year’s costume theme! We got most of the stuff very early on, but at the last minute, we scrambled to get a vest for Dylan and a coat for Tom. I wanted to do the make-up a la Disney’s production of “Alice in Wonderland”, but I didn’t have time what with all of the post-work, pre-trick-or-treating hubbub! Anyway, the kids and Tom looked splendid.

HAT’s family independently thought of Alice in Wonderland as well, so we had Taliana Cheshire Cat (and Chloe as Cheshire kitten) as well as big Alice (K.) and little Alice (Cameron). Heather and her parents all made themselves playing cards which turned out terrific!
